ˌAnimal ˈFarm a novel by George
Orwell which is a
satire (=a humorous criticism) on the
Russian Revolution and
communist society. In the book, a group of animals take control of a farm so that they can establish a society where they are all equal. The pigs, however, soon become the leaders and say that they are more important, intelligent etc than everyone else, using the phrase ‘All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.’
