Phil‧by, Kim /ˈfɪlbi, kɪm/
(1911–88) a British
spy (=someone who gives secret information to a country's enemies). He was a member of the British Secret Intelligence Service during and after World War II, but all the time he was secretly working for the
Soviet Union. He escaped to Russia in 1963. ⇒
