play along phrasal verb (see also play)

1. to pretend to agree to do what someone wants, in order to avoid annoying them or to get an advantage:
She felt she had to play along or risk losing her job.

2. play somebody along British English to tell someone something that is not true because you need their help in some way

play along (with (someone/something))
to seem to support or be friendly to someone or something.
He knew that if he didn't play along with the reporters, they would write unpleasant stories about him.

I don't really like their idea that much but for now, it is probably a good idea simply to play along.
