Richard, Maurice (1921–2000) a Canadian
ice hockey player, who some people think was the best in the history of the sport. He was known as ‘Rocket’, and played for the Montreal Canadiens. He
scored more
goals than any other player in the National Hockey League (
NHL) in 1945, 1947, 1950, 1954, and 1955. In 1945 he became the first player to score 50 goals in a 50-game season.
