ˌCanterbury ˈTales, The
a long poem written by Geoffrey Chaucer in the 14th century, in which pilgrims who are travelling to Canterbury tell stories. One of the most famous characters of the Canterbury Tales is the Wife of Bath. The poem is considered to be one of the greatest works of literature in the English language.
