II. Chapman, Mark (1955–) the man who shot and killed the singer John Lennon, who had been one of the
Beatles. Chapman shot Lennon in 1980 when the singer was returning to his home in the Dakota
apartment building in New York City with his wife, Yoko Ono. Chapman is in prison in New York.
