Chá‧vez, Ce‧sar /ˈtʃɑːvez, ˈʃɑː-, seɪˈzɑːʳ/
(1927–93) a Mexican-American who was the president of the United Farm Workers of America from 1966 to 1993. He is known for organizing boycotts that helped poor workers win better wages and protect them against the use of harmful chemicals to grow food.
