Cu‧kor, George /ˈkjuːkəʳ/
(1899–1983) a US film director who won an Oscar for best director in 1964 for
My Fair Lady. He was the original director of
Gone With the Wind (1939), but was replaced after only two weeks after arguments with the main actor Clark Gable. His other films included
David Copperfield (1935), and
The Philadelphia Story (1940).
