Davis, Bet‧te /ˈbeti/
(1908–89) one of America's greatest film actresses, who often appeared as characters who were not specially beautiful but were very determined, and who secretly made clever or dishonest plans to get what they wanted. She was also known for her beautiful eyes. Her films include
