nickname of Derek Trotter, a character in the humorous British television programme
Only Fools And Horses. Del Boy buys and sells things but he is never very successful. He is not completely honest, but not a bad person. People who behave in a slightly dishonest way in business, but who are not serious criminals, are sometimes compared to Del Boy.
