Financial Services Authority, the (abbreviation FSA)
an independent organization that controls the financial services industry in the UK. Its aims are to make sure that people have confidence in the financial system, to reduce financial crime, to help people to understand the financial system, and to provide protection for consumers (=people who buy things).
