(1926–2003) an Argentinian
general (=army leader) and President from 1981 to 1982. He ordered Argentinian soldiers to take control of the Falkland Islands (Malvinas) in 1982. This led to a war with Britain, which Argentina lost. As a result he was forced to give up being President and was put in prison from 1986 to 1989.
