Gar‧cí‧a Már‧quez, Gabriel /ɡɑːˌsiːə ˈmɑːkes $ ɡɑːrˌsiːə ˈmɑːr-/
(1928–) a Colombian writer whose novels are in the style of Magic Realism, and include One Hundred Years of Solitude (1967) and Love in the Time of Cholera (1988). He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982.
