Giu‧li‧a‧ni, Ru‧dolph /ˌdʒuːliˈɑːni, ˈruːdɒlf $ -dɑːlf/
(1944–) a US lawyer and politician, who was the mayor of New York City from 1993 until 2001. As mayor, he made New York City cleaner and safer. He is admired for his leadership after September 11 2001, when terrorists used planes to attack and destroy the World Trade Center.
