Gor‧bals, the /ˈɡɔːbəlz $ ˈɡɔːr-/
an area of Glasgow in Scotland which used to be known as one of the UK's worst slums (=an area of old houses in bad condition) with high rates of crime and violence. Much of it was rebuilt at the end of the 20th century.
