H-Block /ˈeɪtʃ blɒk $ -blɑːk/ noun
one of several large buildings, in the shape of a letter H, which formed part of the Maze Prison in Northern Ireland. Members of the IRA and of other political organizations involved in the violence in Northern Ireland were often kept there.
