Hea‧ney, Sea‧mus /ˈhiːni, ˈʃeɪməs/
(1939–) an Irish poet. His collections of poems include
Death of a Naturalist,
The Haw Lantern, and
Seeing Things. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1995 and translated
Beowulf into modern English in 2000.
