Ib‧sen, Hen‧rik /ˈɪbsən, ˈhenrɪk/
(1828–1906) a Norwegian writer of plays known especially for writing about middle-class society and criticizing social attitudes and behaviour. His best-known plays include Peer Gynt, A Doll's House, Hedda Gabler, An Enemy of the People, and Ghosts.
