Les‧sing, Dor‧is /ˈlesɪŋ, ˈdɒrəs $ ˈdɔː-/
(1919–) a British writer of novels and short stories. She wrote The Grass is Singing, The Golden Notebook, and a set of five novels, The Children of Violence, about politics and feminism. She won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2007.
