Lin, Ma‧ya /lɪn, ˈmaɪə/
(1959–) a Chinese-American woman who won the competition to design the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Memorial is a black marble ‘V’ with all the names of the soldiers who died in Vietnam on it.
