Loach, Ken /ləʊtʃ/
(1936–) a British film director, known for his socialist political beliefs. His films, which are often about the lives and problems of WORKING-CLASS people, include Cathy Come Home (1966), a film made for television, Kes (1969), and Land and Freedom (1996), a film about the Spanish Civil War.
