Morrison, To‧ni /ˈtəʊni/
(1931–) a US author, known for her poetic writing which describes the experiences of African American people. Her books include
The Bluest Eye (1970) and
Beloved (1987). She won the Pulitzer Prize in 1988 and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1993.
