Parker, Dor‧o‧thy /ˈdɒrəθi $ ˈdɔː-/
(1893–1967) a US writer of poetry and short stories, who also wrote
reviews of books, plays etc for magazines such as
The New Yorker. She was one of the main members of the
Algonquin Round Table, a group of writers who met regularly at a hotel in New York City. She is remembered especially for her many clever and funny sayings in which she criticized US society and well-known people.
