Sam‧pras, Pete /ˈsæmprəs, piːt/
(1971–) a US tennis player, considered the best male player in the world in the late 1990s. He won the men's SINGLES competition at Wimbledon six times between 1993 and 1999, and the US Open in 1990, 1993, 1995, and 1996.
