Sloane Rang‧er /ˌsləʊn ˈreɪndʒəʳ/ (
also Sloane)
noun [countable] a
stereotype of a young English person, especially a young woman, who comes from a rich
upper-class family and has
conservative political values. Sloane Rangers wear very expensive clothes, and spend most of their time shopping in fashionable parts of London such as Chelsea and Sloane Square. The expression was very popular during the 1980s, but is now becoming old-fashioned.
