composer known especially for the clever and amusing words he uses in his songs. He wrote the words for the musical show
West Side Story (1957), and the words and music for many successful musical shows, including
A Little Light Music (1973). He won the Pulitzer Prize in Drama for
Sunday in the Park with George.
