Stef‧fens, Lincoln /ˈstefənz/
(1866–1936) a US newspaper writer who had a special interest in corruption (=dishonest behaviour by people in official positions). He is known especially for his magazine articles about crime and dishonesty in city governments, some of which also appear in his book The Shame of the Cities.
