Stop‧pard, Sir Tom /ˈstɒpɑːd $ ˈstɑːpɑːrd/
(1937–) a British writer of plays, born in the Czech Republic. He first became well-known for his play
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (1967) and has since written many other plays. He wrote the film
Shakespeare in Love (1999), for which he won an Oscar.
