ˌTeenage ˌMutant ˌNinja ˈTurtles (
also ˌTeenage ˌMutant ˌHero ˈTurtles British English)
trademark a group of
turtle characters that were very popular during the early 1990s, appearing in
cartoons, films, and books. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fought against bad characters and always ate
pizza. They were so popular that many companies designed clothes, toys, foods, and other products which looked like them or used their pictures. They are sometimes mentioned as a typical example of something that is extremely popular for a short time, and is then forgotten about.
