Tun‧bridge Wells /ˌtʌnbrɪdʒ ˈwelz/
a town in Kent, southeast England, which was an important
spa (=a place with a spring of mineral water) in the 17th and 18th centuries. Tunbridge Wells is a very wealthy and rather
conservative place, and it is often thought of as being full of older,
right-wing people who are strongly opposed to social change and are easily shocked. ⇒
