ˌUgly ˈSisters, the
two characters in the fairy tale about Cinderella. They are Cinderella's sisters, and are ugly and treat her very badly. In the UK, the story is often performed as a pantomime (=a humorous play for children), and the Ugly Sisters are almost always played by male actors.
